WHAT WE DO
And how it works.
GPIDB.COM is a unique cross-border pet identification system that offers instant and secure communication to pet owners in lost and found situations while maintaining the highest level of privacy.
Our service is cross-platform, it only requires an internet connection, with no need for application or specific software installation. It can be securely and safely accessed on most devices available today.
Our basic service is free for every pet with a microchip implant, and it will always remain free.
Our service extends beyond dogs and cats; in fact, we are fully prepared for horses, rabbits, ferrets, and nearly every other species that can undergo microchipping.
GPIDB.COM was created by responsible pet owners who have had negative experiences and believe that current pet identification technology is limited and outdated.
Let's explore what we mean by this:
Imagine your beloved pet goes missing during New Year's Eve fireworks. Someone finds your pet a few blocks away. In some countries, many petrol stations have microchip implant readers. If that's the case, the person can take the pet to the nearest station to read the microchip implant. In other cases, you have to find a vet, take the pet to the vet, and the vet will be able to read the chip. Keep in mind that the vet may expect financial compensation for the emergency services.
Great, now we have successfully read the microchip implant and obtained a SERIAL NUMBER. However, you may not be aware that the microchip implant ONLY contains a serial number.
Here's the interesting part: due to the sensitive personal data associated with the microchip implant serial number, there is no public access to these databases. Vets only have access at the country level, and some countries charge a service fee to update the details in these databases, which means there is a chance that the phone number and address may not be the correct correspondence.
Now, imagine if this happens when you are on holiday in a different country.
Allow us to share a personal experience. You can register a microchip implant in another EU country with completely different keeper details. Furthermore, in a different country, they won't be able to provide any information about the pet's history. The EU operates a public database that only contains the pet's main details, but nothing about the keeper.
Let's take a closer look at the options available to the keeper in the scenario mentioned above.
A keeper can consider themselves lucky if they are aware that their beloved pet has gone missing. In real-life scenarios, there is a possibility that the keeper is at work and unaware that the pet is missing, which could take hours to realize.
The current option is to post the missing pet on social media sites and hope that someone will see it and find the pet.
However, not everyone uses social media platforms, so the chances are already reduced. Also, keep in mind that in these cases, people share their names, contact details like phone numbers and addresses publicly.
Now, here's the most shocking part: apart from personal details, they also share their pet's name. In most cases, pets respond to their names. If it's a stolen scenario, the chances of never seeing your beloved pet again greatly increase, and in most cases, your pet may end up in a different country. Furthermore, if your details are published on social media, even a trade agreement can be forged using your and your pet's valid details.
Most vets can flag the microchip implant as missing in the local database and alert nearby vets, but this feature is not available everywhere.
Our service can prevent these situations, along with unnecessary expenses and headaches.
If someone searches for your pet's microchip implant, they will only see the data you provided during the pet registration.
Even if you haven't provided any details, there is still an option to send you a message based on your pet's microchip implant number. This means that you may not even be aware that your pet is missing, but there is a confidential and secure contact method through our website without having to publish your email address.
Our mission is to increase the number of responsible keepers, providing a safer environment for our beloved pets, reducing animal theft and illegal activities, and greatly reducing time and increasing efficiency in lost and found situations through our keeper and pet data tracking and communication system.
We are committed to the environment and use only 100% renewable energy to reduce CO2 emissions.
